Freedom Requires Free Software

By Aidan Hellrigel

I have installed linux on my desktop computer. Bye, Bye, Windows. You will not be missed.

Linux is 100x better for your mind. Tasks are way more effective. I have gotten more done in 2 days than I have in the last 6 years using Windows 10. Linux is superior for reasons humanity may never grasp. Running suckless software makes more sense. Running programs out of terminal, makes. more. sense.

For example, navigating the file system has ALWAYS been open heart surgery. Video files to ages to load, opening files to preview was a pain, the lack of keybinding in addition really makes navigating a computer a whole hassle.

The Problem

Most people won’t look into using Linux because of the growing pains, lack of knowledge, and artifical dilectics. I am not a expert in coding by any means and people have the right to use whatever software they choose.
The problem is people don’t see linux as an option, they may not even realize that linux exists.

The diletics of the situation are clear. People argue over using windows or apple operating systems, when both are quite ineffective and filled to the brim with bloat. It is so tough to get things done on a windows and mac operating system.

Anyways, when I say dialetics I meant that anti-thesis and thesis create synthesis. As in, the false-computing-paradiagm. The bulk of humanity sees computing in a involuted way. Windows (thesis) and Apple (anti-thesis) create the false-computing-paradiagm. Depending on the individual, they will either choose Windows as the thesis or Apple as the thesis and the opposite would be the anti-thesis. As you can see, windows was my thesis in thinking about computing. I considered the MacBook to be worser of the two operating systems. Most people are ineffective in computing due to this false-paradiagm. I really have to wonder if computing was made this way on purpose. Instead of giving software free and openly, Bill Gates and Steve Jobs took computing and saw it as an chance to gain power. I am all for people making money but paid software is a little absurd. It isn’t tangible. Software should always be free. People should learn how the ins and outs of how their operating system works. How the programs they use work. How they can optimize work-force without thinking in a consumer mindset.

That is another factor. Instead of solving problems on a individual scale, people hire others to make programs that solve problems. I would say this is a big reason why bloatware exists. Then again, I am still new to this free-software movement, but even I recognize these clear facts regarding the situation.

Okay, I have to help my father with WhatNot, I may update this post later.

Godbless,
