The Courage To Say What Needs To Be Said
By Aidan Hellrigel
Today, I posted a podcast that went over the movie “Interstate 60”. In my breakdown of the film, I touched topics and ideas that would usually be considered controversial. The Truth can often be dark, disturbing, and discouraging.
The fear of what needs to be said, to express my feelings on different topics is my God given right. No one can tell me what I can or can’t say. If someone is upset about what I say, they can turn off my podcast.
Often times, liars and cheats will speak online and they wouldn’t receive criticism due, to the fact, they are telling people what they want to hear. Well, people don’t want to hear that we are living under tyranny. If I am unable to express that fact, then the tyranny will continue. When I tell myself, “What will [insert name here], think of me if they read this blog, watched this video, or listened to this podcast” I am really telling myself “Don’t post your opinion, it is wrong”. In a way, it can be seen as a form of cognitive dissonance. On one hand, I want to post the Truth about our times, and express what I have come to know thus far. On the other, I am saying that I am fearful of what others may think of me.
That fear, is all an illusion. It would be important to feel that illusion. To fully understand, that it is an illusion. Once I am able to start taking action, and putting the message out there, I am sure that their will be people who would disagree, or even be offended. This is the nature of reality. No one is going to collectively agree what I say to be true, even if it is factually true. People are at such a high level of social conditioning and programming that it shouldn’t even be something I am upset about.
I understand that I have faults. I am not the best at socializing, exercising, or producing money financially. I am an academic in the sense, that I enjoy researching topics which ordinarily would be discredited. My value is derived from a force that is beyond the ordinary markers society uses for value.
A Quick Action Step:
Go out into the world, and start to play word association games with people. I would imagine most would say “Value” = “Money”. When I did this, some people actually said that “Value” meant “Human Life” which was an encouraging thought to hear. On the other hand, I have also tried the word “Love” and someone associated that word with “Hate” so still much progress to go.
Super excited to get my courage up so that I am able to express myself in the best way I know how.
Love,
